Winding its way through Marion County is the mighty Pearl River which is 490 miles long. The Pearl River is a great recreational resource for Marion County residents and an occasional nuisance when it floods. There are many places you can see or access the Pearl River in Marion County including various bridges, boat ramps, fish camps, and the Water Park.

Bluff Park at the end of Dewey Street in downtown Columbia offers some incredible views of the Pearl River. Cypress trees, oaks, willows, and dewberries line the river bend in this peaceful setting that is perfect for a sunset picnic.
