New Marion County Brochure

A new brochure has been designed for the historical sites of Marion County as a combined effort of the Tourism Committee of the Marion County Development Partnership and the Marion County Historical Society.  The tri-fold brochure features interesting sites such as the John Ford Home, the Hugh White Governor’s Mansion, the Marion County Courthouse, the historic Round Table Restaurant, and the mighty Pearl River.  The Marion County and City of Columbia Museum and Archives is also showcased in the brochure.

Created to attract visitors to our local historical sites, the brochure was designed by Tourism Committee Chair Tony Weinedel, who also provided the photography for the project, Ann Simmons, past President of the Historical Society, and Chris Watts, curator for the museum.  There have been five thousand copies professionally printed, and eighteen hundred of these brochures have been distributed to all of the Visitor Centers around the state.  Some of the brochures will be sent to various tour bus companies, travel organizations, and RV clubs all over the country to promote cultural heritage tourism in our area.

If you would like one of these new Marion County Historical Brochures, please stop by the MCDP or the Historical Society’s museum at 200 Second Street, across from City Hall, on weekdays between 9AM and 1PM or call 601-731-3999 to have one sent to you.
